Human Goals - Foundations of Our Heritage
Over some 200 years ago our great nation was created and formed – a union of thirteen states, each different but each of them with the goal of uniting into one – the United States of America. Our forefathers conceived of a new nation combining the many ideas and goals of a large group of people – the new citizens, the new children of the United States; our ancestors. These people had long endured the tyranny and oppressions of English rule and were now breaking away, being reborn – a chance for freedom to run their own lives – the freedom of speech, freedom to bear arms, freedom of privacy in their homes, freedom . . . All of these freedoms were goals to reach, real human goals – a need in each of their hearts and lives; just as much as a goal then as it is today. We’ve pushed aside our mountains, reached out both feet and found firm ground - stood behind our goals and defended them, met them as one nation, one big family together in a new land – our land.

American Spirit
We have the spirit and strength to rise above all the difficulties that we're facing today. Our United States is the greatest country in the world and we should be proud. Our road to freedom has been long and perilous, let's not forget our heroes and warriors that helped make our country so great. -David W.

The original was finished in gold leaf but this one was finished with a gold acrylic paint and sealed with a clear matte finish for protection. The basswood eagle is 3/4 inches thick, 9 inches wide and 19 inches long. The first photo is the eagle carved in basswood with no finish. The second photo is the eagle painted with gesso. The third photo is the eagle painted with the gold acrylic paint and sealed with the clear matte finish.

2011 Garden
Here's some photos of our garden for 2011. It's growing good now and contains corn, radishes, lettuce, onions, peppers and more. Now if we can keep the varmints out of the garden we should have a good crop in a couple of months.
